What You’re Getting
The X120 is a fully functional PTZ camera built around a Sony Exmor R 1/2.8″ CMOS sensor, delivering excellent low-light performance that holds up in the demanding and unpredictable lighting conditions of live events. It outputs 1080p up to 60fps with a 20x optical zoom — wide enough to cover a stage, tight enough to isolate a speaker or performer.
For connectivity, it keeps things clean: NDI|HX over Ethernet with PoE+, 3G-SDI, HDMI, Wi-Fi, and USB-C UVC for direct connection to a laptop or conferencing system. If your workflow runs on NDI or needs a reliable baseband output, it’s covered. If you’re running a more complex streaming stack, this isn’t that camera.
On the floor, it pulls its weight — the 360° mohawk tally is visible from any angle in a dark venue, the OLED display keeps your crew informed without hunting through menus, and the 49mm filter thread handles gels and NDs under stage lighting. Auto-tracking and colour shading are available via BirdDog Cam Control at no extra cost. Every advertised feature works, and works demonstrably.

The X120 is sold as a short-run, final-sale product. It ships with a Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) warranty only — if it arrives non-functional, we’ll make it right. Beyond that, there is no extended factory warranty, no ongoing support commitment, and no firmware updates. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a camera that does exactly what it says — no more, no less.
This is the right camera if you need to:
- Stretch a live event production budget across a larger camera count
- Stand up a fleet of reliable PTZ cameras for a venue, touring rig, or hybrid event setup
- Add NDI and SDI coverage without paying current-generation prices
- Deploy cameras where cost-per-unit matters more than long-term vendor support
It is not the right camera if you need ongoing firmware support, extended warranty coverage, or a camera that will grow with your workflow over time.
